Slow Cooked Beef Tacos
Ingredients
- 600g beef chuck or brisket
- Two tablespoons of Zesty Taco Sprinkle
- Two minced cloves of garlic
- Juice of one orange
- Juice of one lime
- Two tablespoons of olive oil
- One onion (diced)
- One can of diced tomatoes
- Two cups of beef stock
Method
1. Prepare the Beef: Begin by cutting the beef into sizeable pieces, then generously sprinkle them with Peach Spice Co's Zesty Taco Sprinkle.
2. Brown the Beef: Heat up your cooking pot and sear the beef pieces aggressively. The goal here is to achieve a deep, golden brown crust on both the beef and the bottom of the pot. This browning process not only adds rich flavour to the meat but also enhances the savoury essence of the sauce.
3. Add the other ingredients to the pot: Once the beef is beautifully seared, it's time to add the remaining ingredients into the pot. Whether you're opting for onions, garlic, tomatoes, or any other flavourful additions, toss them in and let them mingle with the beef.
4. Cook the Beef: Now comes the slow cooking part. Whether you prefer simmering on the stove, slow roasting in the oven, or using a trusty slow cooker or pressure cooker, let the magic happen as the beef transforms into fall-apart-tender goodness. The low and slow cooking process allows the flavours to meld together, resulting in a dish that's irresistibly flavourful and tender.
5. Shred the Beef: Once the beef is tender enough to shred, go ahead and pull it apart using forks or tongs. Toss the shredded beef back into the luscious sauce, ensuring every piece is coated in flavor.
6. Serve: Transfer the beef to a serving platter. Serve on a taco tortilla with coleslaw and avocado.
